On Saturday, November 19, The Lincoln Memorial Shrine continued its yearlong celebration of the 90th-anniversary dedication with the 159th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
The day begins with music from the Camp Carleton Band, Mountain Fifes & Drums, and Civil War Artillery Demonstrations from the 1st Pennsylvania Light Artillery.
Then, renowned Abraham Lincoln presenter Robert Broski, before giving the speech” Play Dixie as I want to remind everyone that we are free.” The Gettysburg Address Robert Broski gave was a Version that was one of the first printed after the speech in 1863 and included pauses for audience applause.
The event concluded with a screening of Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln screened in Smiley Library’s Contemporary Club.
